Figure's humanoid robot at home: where Figure 03 is up to
Figure AI is the US start-up whose Figure 03 humanoid was built to work in homes as well as factories. It's tested its robots in real houses and talked about leasing them, but hasn't put a price or date on a home robot. Here's what Figure has shown, what's still missing, and what it means for Australians. Checked 1 November 2026.

Quick answer
You can't get a Figure robot for your home, in Australia or the US, as of 1 November 2026. Figure hasn't announced a home price, launch date or any market outside the US, and we found no Australian partner or distributor. Its Figure 03 robots work in businesses such as BMW's plant in South Carolina, and Figure says it built 1,000 of them over the (northern) summer. In September 2026 Figure reported that its Helix 2.5 AI completed 56% of household tasks (making beds, folding towels and tidying toys) in 30 Bay Area homes it had never seen, in its own trials. Chief executive Brett Adcock has floated leasing a home robot for “something like $600 a month”, but that's not a price. Treat any Australian seller offering a Figure robot with suspicion.

What Figure 03 is
Figure unveiled Figure 03 on 9 October 2025 as its first robot designed for homes as well as work. It's about 1.68 m tall (TIME) and, Figure says, 9% lighter than Figure 02. Figure didn't publish its weight, payload or runtime, so treat those figures on other sites with care.
| Feature | What Figure says |
|---|---|
| Charging | Wireless, 2 kW through coils in the feet; docks itself |
| Vision | New cameras with twice the frame rate, a quarter of the latency and a 60% wider field of view; a camera in each palm |
| Hands | Fingertip sensors that detect about 3 g of force |
| Safety design | Foam padding at pinch points; a soft, washable textile cover you can remove without tools |
| Battery | Multi-layer protection, certified to the UN38.3 transport standard |
| Data | High-speed 10 Gbps wireless link for uploading data |

How it did in real homes
On 17 September 2026 Figure said its Helix 2.5 AI completed 56% of tasks in 30 Bay Area homes it had never been in before, up from about 9% without its new training data. Humanoids Daily's breakdown: bed-making 94 of 140 attempts (67%), towel folding 87 of 140 (62%) and toy tidying 56 of 140 (40%), 237 of 420 in all. A task counted only if it was finished, and any safety intervention counted as a failure.
That's real progress, but it's Figure's own test, on three chores, not an independent trial. A robot that fails nearly half the time on simple tidying isn't ready to run a household, and Figure itself hasn't put a date on home sales.
What a home Figure might cost
Figure has never published a price. In an interview in early May 2026, Adcock said the company could lease a Figure 03 for “something like $600 a month” and that home sales were “near term”, without giving a date. At about US$600 a month, a year's lease would be over US$7,000 before any Australian GST or shipping. For comparison, 1X's NEO is US$20,000 or US$499 a month in the US. Privacy and safety questions
- Home data for training. Figure told TIME it plans to train future AI on data from robots in customers' homes, with personal information detected and blurred “like Google Street View”. Figure says it collected no data in the 30 test homes.
- Remote operators. Adcock said in October 2025 that Figure won't teleoperate its robots in customers' homes. Some rivals, including 1X, use remote operators for tasks the AI can't do.
- Safety lawsuit. In November 2025 Figure's former head of product safety sued the company in a US federal court, alleging he was fired after warning that its robots could exert forces strong enough to fracture a skull. Figure denies the claims and says he was dismissed for poor performance. We haven't confirmed whether the case has been resolved.

Figure in Australia
We found no Figure distributor, partner, reseller or announced launch in Australia, and Figure hasn't named any market outside the US. Sydney-based Macquarie Capital invested in Figure's US$1 billion-plus Series C round in September 2025, which valued the company at US$39 billion, but that's an investment, not a sales channel. If Figure follows Tesla and 1X, Australia would come after the US.
Meanwhile, the only humanoids you can order from Australian stock are research robots such as the Unitree G1. For the rest of the home humanoid race, follow our Tesla Optimus and 1X NEO trackers, and the news that Meta has built a humanoid prototype.
What to watch next
- A home price, lease terms or waitlist from Figure.
- Figure 04's reveal, and whether it's the home model.
- Independent tests of Figure robots in homes, not just Figure's own.
- Any market outside the US.
