Beatbot AquaSense 2 review: easy to live with, but small-basketed for leafy pools

The AquaSense 2 is Beatbot's mid-range cordless robot: it cleans the floor, walls and waterline, then rises to the surface and drains itself so you can lift it out easily. It's our top pick for large pools. We haven't used it ourselves; this review draws on Beatbot's Australian specs, warranty and prices and independent hands-on reviews. Checked 27 October 2026.

Quick answer

A strong, convenient all-rounder for big pools, if leaves aren't your main problem. Beatbot rates it for 300 m² with up to four hours of floor cleaning, 16 sensors and twice-over waterline scrubbing, and it parks at the surface when it's done. It was $1,599 at Beatbot's AU store on 27 October 2026 (RRP $1,999), the same as on Amazon AU the day before, with a three-year warranty on the main body. Bob Vila (4.5/5) rated its floor, wall and waterline cleaning highly. The limits: a 2 L basket that fills fast with leaves, no stair cleaning, and filter and brush cover of only three months. For leafy pools, the Sora 10 has a 5 L basket for $600 less.

We also saw it at $2,599 on Matt Blatt's marketplace and listed as sold out at $1,999 on beatbotaustralia.com.au, a site that calls itself official but doesn't name a company. Beatbot's own AU store, which au.beatbot.com redirects to, had the lowest price.

Who should buy it, and who should skip it

  • Buy it if you have a large in-ground pool and want a cordless robot that's easy to get out: it surfaces at the end of a cycle and SmartDrain empties the water as you lift.
  • Buy it if you want a three-year warranty on the robot itself.
  • Skip it if your pool gets heavy leaf drop; a 2 L basket fills quickly, and testers flagged it.
  • Skip it if you need steps cleaned or floating debris skimmed; it does neither (the AquaSense 2 Pro skims).
  • Skip it if your pool is under about 150 m²; you're paying for coverage you won't use.

From Beatbot's AU product page and AU warranty policy, checked 27 October 2026. Some retailer listings quote 3.5 hours on walls and the waterline and a quad-core processor; Beatbot's own pages don't, so we haven't relied on those figures.

Cleaning: what testers found

Floor, walls and waterline. Bob Vila (US, 17 July 2025, 4.5/5) used it for about three months in a Florida pool and rated its cleaning and patterned navigation highly, with useful cleaning logs in the app. It couldn't clean stairs and didn't reach the full height of the waterline tiles.

Runtime and obstacles. Freshly Charged (24 February 2026) saw more than 3.5 hours per charge, but found it struggled with a protruding wall jet and that Bluetooth was unreliable underwater.

Leaves and filtration. The Pool Nerd (US, March 2026) criticised the small, mesh-only basket for filling quickly with leaves and found its suction and filtration weaker than corded Dolphin robots. Reddit owners summarised by reddb.ai are mostly positive, with one noting acorns didn't fit the intake.

AquaSense 2 vs 2 Pro vs 2 Ultra

ModelRated poolSensorsBasketCleansBeatbot AU price

AquaSense 2 Ultra360 m²27, including an AI camera4.0 L, dual filterAdds camera mapping and side brushes$3,999

Prices from Beatbot AU's AquaSense series page, checked 27 October 2026. Pro and Ultra specs from Beatbot's comparison table; one page quotes 320 m² for the Ultra. The Pro's bigger basket and skimming make it the better choice for leafy big pools, at nearly double the price.

Warranty and support in Australia

Beatbot AU's warranty, issued by Hydroglobe Technology (HK), covers the main body (battery, circuit boards, motors, sensors, plastics and power supply) for 36 months, but the filter basket and roller brush for only three months. Beatbot repairs or replaces faulty units, and replacements may be refurbished. You arrange and initially pay to ship the robot to Beatbot, and service is only available in the region where you bought it. Beatbot markets this as "full machine replacement"; its detailed replacement-only policy names the US, Canada and EU, so ask how it applies here before relying on it.

Beatbot's official AU contact page lists email support only ([email protected]), with no Australian phone number or address. The policy says your Australian Consumer Law rights are preserved. We couldn't find AquaSense 2 replacement filters or brushes on Beatbot AU, so check spares before buying.

Where to buy

Beatbot AU and Amazon AU (sold by Beatbot) had the lowest price, $1,599, on our check dates; specialist pool shops were $300 to $400 more.

Beatbot AU: $1,599 Amazon AU: $1,599

Verdict

The AquaSense 2 is the easiest robot to live with that we've covered under $2,000: it does a full clean of a big pool, comes up to meet you, and drains itself as you lift. A three-year warranty on the robot helps justify $1,599. But for many Australian pools the 2 L basket is a real limit in leaf season, it won't do steps, and official support here is email-only. Buy it for a large, mostly clean pool; for a leafy one, the Sora 10's 5 L basket (or the skimming AquaSense 2 Pro, if budget allows) is the better fit.
