Watch out for

  • Obstacle avoidance. Most robots at this price avoid furniture with LiDAR and bump sensors. Camera-based recognition of cords, socks and pet mess is rare, so tidy the floor first.
  • Real mopping. Many budget robots drag a damp cloth you wash by hand. The X20+ and Qrevo L are exceptions because their docks wash the pads.
  • Hot water and big tanks. Hot-water mop washing mostly starts above $700.
  • Support depth. Budget models usually carry 12-month warranties, and some Australian owners report slow warranty handling. Buy from a retailer you trust.
