MOVA 600 review: a capable LiDAR mower that's now hard to find at a good price
The MOVA 600 was one of the first wire-free LiDAR mowers sold in Australia, and at $1,099 on sale it was our value pick. It's now sold out at MOVA's own store and gone from Bunnings, leaving stock elsewhere at $1,699 to $1,799. We haven't used it ourselves; this review pulls together MOVA's specs, Australian prices and availability, and what independent testers in Germany and France found. Prices rechecked 21 October 2026.

Quick answer
Good mower, wrong price right now. The MOVA 600 navigates with 3D LiDAR, so it doesn't need a satellite antenna or open sky, and testers found it easy to set up, quiet and good on slopes up to its 45% (24°) limit. Its weaknesses are weak edge cutting, a manual cutting-height dial and a basic anti-theft alarm. On 21 October 2026 MOVA AU still listed it at $1,099 but sold out, and Amazon AU had it at $1,699 (was $1,799). At that price we'd look at the ECOVACS Goat O600 RTK ($1,119 on Amazon AU) for an open lawn or MOVA's camera-guided ViAX 300 ($1,499) for a small shaded one. Buy the 600 only if you find it near $1,100.

If it's sold out at a good price, buy this instead
- Open, sunny lawn up to 600 m²: the ECOVACS Goat O600 RTK, $1,119 on Amazon AU (21 Oct 2026).
- Shaded lawn up to 500 m²: the camera-guided eufy C15, $1,359 on sale at Amazon AU (21 Oct 2026). It won't mow in low light.
- Small shaded yard up to 300 m²: MOVA's camera-guided ViAX 300, $1,499 at MOVA AU (21 Oct 2026); see small yards.
- You need LiDAR for heavy shade or night mowing: MOVA's LiDAX Ultra 1000 ($2,499 at MOVA AU), covered in trees and shade.
Price and availability in Australia

| JB Hi-Fi | $1,799 | Shown as not available |
| Bunnings | Not available | Listing now says the product is no longer available |
MOVA AU, Amazon AU, Essendon Mowers and Bunnings checked 18 October 2026; JB Hi-Fi's status is from a page fetch the same day. MOVA launched the 600 in Australia in October 2025 (ChannelLife). With MOVA's own store sold out and MOVA's newer LiDAX and ViAX ranges on sale, the 600 may be nearing the end of its run; MOVA hasn't said either way.
Our best robot lawn mowers guide quoted the $1,099 sale price; that stock has gone, and we'll update it in our next price check.
Who should buy it, and who should skip it
- Buy it if you find it near $1,100 and have a suburban lawn up to about 600 m² with trees, a pergola or a two-storey house that would block an RTK mower's view of the sky.
- Buy it if you want to mow at night or in low light; LiDAR doesn't need daylight, unlike camera-only mowers.
- Skip it if you'd be paying $1,799. Cheaper and newer options cover similar lawns (see Alternatives).
- Skip it if your slopes are steeper than 45% (24°), or you want app-controlled cutting height.

Navigation, area, mowing rate, slope and warranty from MOVA AU's product page (checked 18 October 2026). Cutting, battery, noise, IP rating and weight from the Bunnings and Essendon Mowers listings, which agree with each other; MOVA AU doesn't list them. 'Up to 3 years' is MOVA's wording; JB Hi-Fi's listing says a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. Check what the battery and accessories are covered for before you buy.
Navigation and setup
The 600's LiDAR spins to build a 3D picture of the yard, so it locates itself against fences, walls and trees rather than satellites. That's why it suits shaded suburban yards, and why it has no antenna to mount. Our RTK vs vision vs LiDAR guide explains the trade-offs.
Both testers found setup simple. You drive the mower around the edge in the MOVAhome app to map it. Basic Tutorials (Germany, 30 April 2025) needed about 45 minutes to pair the app, and the app needs 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (Maison et Domotique, France, 3 July 2025). Maison et Domotique recommends about a metre of clear space on each side of the dock.
Mowing performance: what testers found
Slopes and grip: Maison et Domotique found it handled its 45% limit with good grip, including on wet grass and moss.
Obstacles: Maison et Domotique says it detected obstacles from about 5 to 20 cm and avoided a hedgehog dummy. Basic Tutorials saw it brush small obstacles occasionally, and sometimes treat tall grass as an obstacle and skip it.
Edges: both say you'll still need a line trimmer. It's a single-disc mower with three pivoting blades and doesn't have an edge disc.
Runtime: Maison et Domotique measured about an hour per charge, mowing roughly 80 m² in 50 minutes in standard mode. It measured 59 dB. Basic Tutorials noted a delay of about two minutes before the first run each time.
Long grass: cut an overgrown spring lawn with a normal mower first; both testers found it works best on grass that's already short. Our spring start-up guide covers first cuts.
App, anti-theft and privacy
The MOVAhome app (iOS and Android) handles mapping, two maps, zones, no-go areas, schedules, mowing patterns and firmware updates. MOVA lists theft alerts, but Maison et Domotique found the alarm easy to switch off. Cutting height is a dial on the mower, not an app setting. The 600 has no camera, so there's no video of your yard to worry about; it still needs an account and Wi-Fi.
Blades and running costs
It uses three small pivoting razor blades on one disc. MOVA's blade kit for the 600 and 1000 is $39 on Amazon AU and is offered as a $39 add-on at MOVA AU. Basic Tutorials thought the blades looked thin; budget for regular swaps. The battery is user-accessible (Maison et Domotique).
Strengths and weaknesses
| Strengths | Weaknesses |

| 45% slope rating with good grip (tester) | Cutting height set by hand |
| Quiet: 59 dB measured | Basic anti-theft alarm |
| Up to 3-year warranty | Short runtime per charge (about an hour) |

The closest like-for-like replacement from MOVA is the LiDAR-guided LiDAX Ultra 1000, but it costs more. On a budget, our robot mowers under $2,000 guide compares the cheapest LiDAR, vision and RTK mowers.
Where to buy
On 21 October 2026 Amazon AU had it at $1,699 (was $1,799). MOVA AU's $1,099 sale price was still showing, but stock was sold out; it's worth checking back there before paying more.
Verdict
Testers rate the MOVA 600 as an easy, quiet LiDAR mower that climbs well and doesn't need an antenna, held back by weak edging and basic anti-theft. At $1,099 it was one of the best-value wire-free mowers in Australia. At $1,699 to $1,799 it isn't: the Goat O600 RTK costs less for open lawns, and MOVA's own LiDAX Ultra 1000 covers more ground under trees. If MOVA restocks near the sale price, it's back on our shortlist. We haven't found an Australian hands-on review and will update this page if one appears.
Common questions
How much is the MOVA 600 in Australia?
$1,699 at Amazon AU on 21 October 2026 (it was $1,799 on 18 October). MOVA AU listed it at $1,099 on sale (RRP $1,799) but it was sold out.
Is the MOVA 600 discontinued?
MOVA hasn't said so, but on 18 October 2026 it was sold out at MOVA AU and Bunnings' listing said it was no longer available.
Does the MOVA 600 need an RTK antenna or boundary wire?
No. It uses 3D LiDAR to map and navigate, so there's no antenna or wire, and it doesn't need a clear view of the sky.
Can the MOVA 600 mow at night?
LiDAR doesn't rely on daylight, so it can navigate in low light. Check your local council rules on noise and keep wildlife in mind before scheduling night runs.
What slope can the MOVA 600 handle?
MOVA rates it to 45% (24 degrees).
